For twenty years, I climbed.
Cabin crew in Bangalore. Then Dubai, one of the world's most iconic airlines, a culture so strong that purpose was not a poster on a wall but a feeling you carried into the cabin every single morning.
Then luxury real estate. Boardrooms. A front-row seat to what happens when a Big Four consulting firm walks into a family business and installs the systems that transform it from the inside.
I was good at this. I gave everything to it.
Then one morning in Bangalore, I could not breathe.
Not the “I am overwhelmed” kind founders casually mention over coffee. I mean I genuinely could not breathe. My chest was locked. My hands were shaking.
My teenage daughter stood at the door watching me, terrified and I looked at her and said words I never planned to say to my child:
“I do not know if I am going to make it.”
For eight months after that, I was alone.
No income. No identity. No clear answer to the question I had been avoiding for years: what have I been building and why?
I had given my health to a business that did not belong to me. I had been present for my clients and absent for my children.
I had performed resilience for everyone around me while my nervous system was running on empty.
The burnout did not come from working hard. It came from working without purpose, inside a culture without care.
Rock bottom became the foundation.
I did not just want to start over. I wanted to build something designed from the very first decision around what I had nearly lost.
My health. My family. My sense of why any of this matters in the first place.
I made a decision that felt almost radical at the time:
I would only build something that could coexist with my family, my health, and my peace. Not after those things. Alongside them.
That decision became Manarah.
